These are some steps you need to follow. You may be thinking as if how can you do it all in a few minutes.

#1. Choosing a Blogging Platform

As you all know, WordPress is the most amazing blogging platform right now. If you want to build a professional blog, you should definitely go with this CMS.

Though many people choose the free platforms like Blogger, Squarespace, Wix etc, and they finally migrate to WordPress.

NOTE: You should know that I am talking about the self-hosted WordPress version here. Not ( WordPress.com )

Most of the people start with WordPress.com after getting confused. You should read the article on WordPress.org vs WordPress.com.

And if you’re using any other free platform as mentioned above, you can move your blog from Blogger to WordPress, WordPress.com to WordPress.org, Squarespace to WordPress, Weebly to WordPress.

#2. Make a Decision About the Domain name

The domain name is the name of your blog. It’s your brand, you must choose a name which can resemble the content you’re going to provide.

You should know about the things to choose the best domain name. It’s always recommended to add the keyword in it.

Now the concept is what a keyword like. Well, in simple words a keyword is a word related to the niche of your blog.

Suppose you’re writing about fashion, you can include fashion in your domain name. The same goes with any other topic.

As you can see, “Blogging” is included in “BloggingLove”.

You should also know the domain name mistakes. Many people add numbers which is one of the biggest mistakes. Choose something easy to remember.

#3. Seeking for a Reliable Web Hosting

There are many web hosting companies but you need something fast, reliable and affordable. First of all, let me put some light on the term “web hosting”.

The web hosting is the space you buy to place your blog on the world wide web. Isn’t that simple?

  1. Hi Ravi,

    Happy Monday ?

Your post reminds me of the time I started blogging, though it was on a free platform of Bloggers! I’d not even heard of Bluehost or the rest, till of course, I switched to WordPress, and still – one keeps trying various web hosting till we settled for what we have now!

Yes, the domain name is so essential nowadays, with several blogs coming up. We just started ours one fine day, and later realized perhaps it could have been something different or more thoughtful in terms of blogging etc. However, it picked up the pace and now there is no looking back. I guess what matters most is the content you provide and the value it gives your readers, isn’t it?

Thanks for sharing this wonderful tutorial. Have a nice week ahead ?

    1. Hey Harleena,

For every blog, the first thing is to have a domain name which can stand. Even I had bought a few domain names but dropped them all.

Bluehost is one of the finest companies of all the time. I have tried it for a while and found it reliable. Though people have their own experiences still I can share mine.

Of course, the main thing is how you handle your content.

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

      ~Ravi
